Product Manager

We’re a venture-backed startup growing Copper’s founding team in 2021 to bring our product to market. This role will be instrumental in building Copper’s platform for authors and readers. As a Product Manager, you will help provide the performance and scale of the platform to millions of users. When you meet a stranger a decade from now, you’ll be able to say you were a part of the early team that built the Copper platform.

What You’ll Do

  • Work closely with Copper stakeholders to understand their vision and break it down into an actionable backlog of user stories for the development team.
  • Guide and work hands-on with the development & product team to prioritize, plan and deliver software that meets the users’ needs.
  • Perform acceptance on all delivered stories in the backlog and perform acceptance testing on product features.
  • Help Copper leadership work within an iterative development approach and focus on delivering product features through careful and deliberate prioritization for a Minimum Viable Product first, and then product growth.
  • Work closely with the product designer(s) to ensure timely delivery of designs and assets to the development team.
  • Host a weekly team retrospective and serve as an Agile/XP coach to the team.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3+ years of agile product management experience, ideally for an early stage product
  • Skilled at defining and prioritizing product features
  • Strong leadership and communication skills and the ability to teach others
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others and navigate complex decision-making.
  • Ability to collaborate and co-create with engineers, designers, and stakeholders.
  • Previous success working with an agile development team and taking an knowledge of computer science or software engineering preferred
